Should I champion hip hop anymore? It has taken the artistic value out the music. How can we defend hip hop?

We had great music in the 50's, 60's, 70's and early 80's. I was down with hip hop. now it has become a commercial tool to teach nothing to the black community about love or respect. There are exceptions but hip hop has warped into a bunch of spoiled grown men talking about the next ho they will bang. No musical talent necessary. I remember when musicians could at least play guitar or harmonica. we are losing our music.
