Is Manny Pacquiao today's Joe Louis?

I think so. Ali and Pacquiao were basically the exact opposite outside of the ring, Ali could talk trash and get inside the heads of the best of them. Pacquiao and Louis are/were both humble guys who took care of business in the ring. I'm pretty sure Joe Louis said the only fighter he didn't like was Tony Galento, which goes to show he was an easy guy to get along with. I think that is the case with Pacquiao as well. All the points you made are the same for both of them. This post makes me think that Louis comparisons would be more appropriate than the Ali comparison.
